The exuberant new single from Lunch Money Life is ‘Mother’, a track which has allowed them to team up with Lady Lykez, a London-based artist who just released the critically acclaimed Woza EP, and Jamaican dancehall royalty, Suku Ward of Ward 21. The band have taken an exciting new direction with this track, abandoning their usual, gritty live instrumentation in favour of an electronic sound, permeated by electronic drums and retro synths that create the perfect bed for the shared vocals of the two MCs. The instrumental for the track “was beamed into our brains during a late night jam and we knew poisonous vocals were a necessity… The music of Ward 21 has shaped our lives, so having Suku on board is nothing short of a dream come true,  and we knew that Lady Lykez alone had the lyrical and technical prowess to complete the track.” The band are releasing their new album, The God Phone, on June 9th, 2023. -Dan Peeke
